ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,454,339, issued on Oct. 28, was assigned to Brunswick Corp. (Mettawa, Ill.).

"Linear actuator" was invented by Trevor R. Haney (Jenison, Mich.), Kevin T. Downey (Rockford, Mich.) and Tyler J. Dally (Grand Rapids, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A linear actuator has a mounting bracket with a mounting flange configured to be coupled to a first component and a clevis comprising a pair of forks.
