ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,429,540, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Brookhaven Technology Group Inc. (Stony Brook, N.Y.).

"Conduction cooled cryogenic current source with a high-temperature superconducting filter" was invented by Vyacheslav Solovyov (Rocky Point, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A regulated current source that provides high DC current and low voltage ripple to a superconducting electromagnet. The current source is a multi-phase synchronous rectifier, wherein the rectifying elements are cryogenically-cooled MOSFETS coupled with a superconducting filter."

The patent was filed on Sept. 4, 2022, under Application No. 17/902,860.
