ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,457, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (Princeton, N.J.).

"Use of rosmarinic acid in cell bioproduction" was invented by Jun Tian (Westford, Mass.), Jianlin Xu (Littleton, Mass.) and Qin He (Littleton, Mass.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to new methods and processes for culturing mammalian cells with the addition of phenolic antioxidants. Performance of the cell culturing methods and processes in their various aspects result in a higher viable cell density and higher protein titer."
