ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,399, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. (Princeton, N.J.).

"Medication error detection system" was invented by Martin John McLoughlin (Hillsborough, N.J.), Stephen Lawrence Zieminski (East Brunswick, N.J.), Jeffrey Manfred Gunnarsson (Baltimore) and Nitin Venkat Vudathala (Baltimore).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Various embodiments are provided herein for checking proper inclusion and sequencing of drug modules in a combinatorial drug delivery device."

The patent was filed on Oct. 27, 2020, under Application No. 17/770,816.
