ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,059, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Bright Sand Inc. (Chattanooga, Tenn.).

"Process to produce an engineered carbon" was invented by Earl R. Decker (Windsor, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for the conversion of hardwood and bamboo to engineered carbon is disclosed. The biomass feedstock of hardwood and bamboo is placed into a holding canister, and the holding canister is lowered into the sealable reactor vessel.
