According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The tire 10 is a tire 10 having a smooth pattern with substantially no grooves on a tread surface 11 of a tread portion 1 including tread rubber 1a, wherein on a side portion outer surface 21 of the tire 10, a plurality of ridges 30 protruding from the side portion outer surface 21 and extending in the tire circumferential direction, to check a remaining tread gauge to the tread rubber 1a reaches its wear limit, are provided spaced apart from each other in the tire radial direction."
