ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,553, issued on July 29, was assigned to Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (Nashville, Tenn.).
"Tire tread rubber composition" was invented by James P. Kleckner (Akron, Ohio), Anthony M. Unger (New Albany, Ohio) and Benjamin C. Galizio (Munroe Falls, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are tire tread rubber compositions comprising a specified elastomer component, reinforcing silica filler, a specified hydrocarbon resin, a cure package, and optionally oil. The elastomer component includes styrene-butadiene rubber and polybutadiene."
The patent was filed on May 1, 2019, under Application No. 17/052,721.
