ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,503,578, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations LLC (Nashville, Tenn.).
"Syndiotactic polybutadiene in non-tire applications" was invented by Shammi Ahmed (Copley, Ohio) and Yingyi Huang (Hudson, Ohio).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An air spring bellow formed from a rubber composition including a rubber component that contains a polyisoprene rubber and syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene. The syndiotactic 1,2-polybutadiene has a low crystallinity of 40 percent or less and the rubber composition includes a filler."
The patent was filed on Aug. 28, 2020, under Application No. 17/753,333.
