ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,379, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to Boston Scientific Scimed Inc. (Maple Grove, Minn.).
"Method for the treatment of thromboembolism" was invented by Lynn Gourley Allen (Edmonds, Wash.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for the treatment of thromboembolism comprising administering a thrombolytic agent directly to the thromboembolism in the presence of ultrasound. The total dose of thrombolytic agent administered is between 1 and 12 mg and the time over which the total dose is delivered is less than 15 hours."
The patent was filed on Jan. 23, 2018, under Application No. 15/878,269.
