ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,383,278, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Boston Scientific Scimed Inc. (Maple Grove, Minn.).

"Left atrial appendage closure device" was invented by Jan-Hung Chen (St. Paul, Minn.), Harishankar Natesan (Shoreview, Minn.) and Thyna M. Chau (Woodbury, Minn.).
