ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,372,139, issued on July 29, was assigned to BorgWarner Inc. (Auburn Hills, Mich.).
"Bicycle chain with bushing link" was invented by Timothy K. White (Sterling Heights, Mich.), Christopher Van Loon (Ithaca, N.Y.) and Marty Gardner (Dryden, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A bicycle chain which includes internal links which are formed to act as both a rotating joint for the pin and a supporting surface for the roller. Two internal links together form an internal link assembly, along with rollers and bushings."
The patent was filed on Jan. 11, 2024, under Application No. 18/410,015.
