ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,227,605, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Borealis AG (Vienna).

"High melt strength polypropylene" was invented by Norbert Reichelt (Linz, Austria).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is related to a high melt strength polypropylene (HMS-PP) comprising units derivable from at least one polyunsaturated fatty acid, a process for preparing said high melt strength polypropylene (HMS-PP), as well as an article comprising said high melt strength polypropylene (HMS-PP)."

The patent was filed on May 12, 2022, under Application No. 18/559,450.
