ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,509,536, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Borealis AG (Vienna).

"Production of polypropylene with low volatiles" was invented by Jingbo Wang (Linz, Austria), Markus Gahleitner (Linz, Austria), Klaus Bernreitner (Linz, Austria), Pauli Leskinen (Porvoo, Finland), Georg Grestenberger (Linz, Austria) and Ramesh Kumar Selvasankar (Schwechat-Mannsworth, Austria).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Process for producing a polypropylene comprising the steps of polymerizing the polypropylene in the presence of a metallocene catalyst, visbreaking said polypropylene and subsequently aerating the polypropylene at elevated temperature."
