ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,281,218, issued on April 22, was assigned to Borealis AG (Vienna).
"Reduction in VOC and FOG values of polypropylene grades by aeration" was invented by Girish Suresh Galgali (Linz, Austria), Luca Boragno (Linz, Austria), Andreas Fuchs (Linz, Austria), Jurgen Huber (Linz, Austria) and Stefanie Engleder (Linz, Austria).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for reducing the amount of volatile and semi-volatile organic substances of a polypropylene composition to below 150 Mug/g (VOC, VDA 278 October 2011) and below 350 Mug/g (FOG, VDA 278 October 2011)."
The patent was filed on Oct. 30, 2019, under Application No. 17/289,629.
