ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,319,949, issued on June 3, was assigned to BONUMOSE INC. (Charlottesville, Va.).
"Enzymatic production of mannose" was invented by Daniel Joseph Wichelecki (Charlottesville, Va.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are improved processes for making mannose including the step of converting the M6P to mannose, catalyzed by a M6PP, using enzymes with higher activities compared to M6PPs previously used in a process to produce mannose."
The patent was filed on Feb. 11, 2020, under Application No. 17/429,104.
