ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,258, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Bombardier Transportation GmbH (Berlin).
"Heated emergency release" was invented by Jorg Schnaibel (Berlin).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An external emergency unlocking device of a door. The emergency unlocking device includes an emergency actuating device which can be protected against icing by a heating element. A corresponding passenger transport means, in particular a rail vehicle, is also disclosed."
The patent was filed on Oct. 20, 2020, under Application No. 17/770,351.
