ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,393,917, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Block Inc. (Oakland, Calif.).

"Interactive digital receipt" was invented by David W. Maxwell (San Francisco), Tyler James Lettau (Hercules, Calif.), Lauren A. Myrick (San Francisco) and Daniel G. Becker (San Francisco).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A technique is disclosed for generating an interactive digital receipt on a device associated with a customer, where the receipt offers transaction information associated with a transaction and one or more interactive components.
