ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,260,377, issued on March 25, was assigned to BlackBerry Ltd. (Waterloo, Canada).
"Vehicle service authorization" was invented by Michaela Vanderveen (Tracy, Calif.) and Stephen John Barrett (Haywards Heath, Great Britain).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In some examples, a system determines a context relating to a requested service of a vehicle, the context comprising information of a location related to the vehicle. The system authorizes the requested service based on the determined context."
