US Patent Issued to Black Sesame Technologies on June 10 for "System and method for image auto-focusing" (Singaporean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,328,502, issued on June 10, was assigned to Black Sesame Technologies Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"System and method for image auto-focusing" was invented by Jiaoyang Yao (Singapore), Fangwen Tu (Singapore) and Bo Li (Singapore).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention discloses an active auto-focus tracking system using a time-of-flight (ToF) depth sensor. The ToF sensor serves as a rangefinder and also provides environmental depth information. The active auto-focus system includes a compressive tracking algorithm to track the movement of an object.
