ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,416,206, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Black & Decker Inc. (New Britain, Conn.).
"Hand-held power tool" was invented by Justin Cooper (Shrewsbury, Pa.), Karla Plogstedt (Orlando, Fla.) and Sean Allison Devine (York, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein is a hand-held power tool including a motor housing, a motor in the motor housing, an auger coupled to the motor and having a rotational axis, and a first handle coupled to the motor housing and including a grip. In some embodiments, the rotational axis of the auger and an axis of the grip subtend to an acute angle."
