"Portable flashlight" was invented by Mark Colton (Annapolis, Md.), Jonathan Kirkpatrick (Baldwin, Md.), Xiaotian Zeng (Suzhou, China), Karen M. Baumeister (Jarrettsville, Md.), Ling Yang (Suzhou, China) and Timothy J. Payne (Colombus, Ohio).
