US Patent Issued to Berry Global on April 22 for "Closure for a package" (Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,922, issued on April 22, was assigned to Berry Global Inc. (Evansville, Ind.).

"Closure for a package" was invented by John A. Vassallo (Lititz, Pa.), Steven Gift (Lititz, Pa.) and Frank A. Bond (York, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A package includes a container and a closure coupled to the container to control release of product therefrom. The closure includes a closure cap coupled to the container and a flip-top cap coupled to the closure cap and configured to pivot relative to the closure cap between a closed position and an opened position."

The patent was filed on Dec. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/397,298.
