ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,338, issued on May 13, was assigned to BennuBio Inc. (Albuquerque, N.M.).

"Positionally assisted negative particle rejection (PANR) to sort and enrich target cells of interest" was invented by Steven Graves (Santa Fe, N.M.), James Freyer (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Travis Woods (Albuquerque, N.M.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Novel methods and apparatus for sorting and enriching target cells of interest from a mixture."
