ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,448,608, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to Beijing Biostar Pharmaceuticals Co. Ltd. (Beijing) and Chengdu Biostar Pharmaceuticals LTD. (Chengdu, China).

"Recombinant bacteria for producing de-epoxidized epothilone B and use thereof" was invented by Li Tang (Beijing) and Rongguo Qiu (Beijing).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Recombinant Sorangium cellulosum for producing de-epoxidized epothilone B by fermentation, insertional inactivation of an epoK gene in an epothilone biosynthetic gene cluster in the recombinant bacteria, and a method for producing de-epoxidized epothilone B using the recombinant bacteria."
