ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,064, issued on July 29, was assigned to BDCM A2 LLC (Dover, Del.).

"Simultaneous localization and mapping and neural network system" was invented by Sandra Lynn Godsey (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Matthew Paul Harrison (Palo Alto, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A perception engine incorporating place information for a vehicular sensor. The system uses place information to trigger responses in a perception engine. In some examples the system implements a mirroring process in response to other vehicle actions."

The patent was filed on March 9, 2020, under Application No. 16/813,640.
