ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,291,174, issued on May 6, was assigned to Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Munich).

"Front section of a motor vehicle" was invented by Oliver Haff (Munich), Felix Schumacher (Munich) and Jasmin Tahan (Munich).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A front section of a motor vehicle includes an engine hood and a chassis. Support parts of the chassis are arranged in a receiving space of the front section body, at least partly below the engine hood. A water-fillable multi-chamber pad is arranged at least in a first partial region of the receiving space."

The patent was filed on Jan. 13, 2020, under Application No. 17/427,983.
