ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,374,683, issued on July 29, was assigned to Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (Munich).

"Cathode active material comprising lithium peroxide, cathode for a lithium-ion battery, lithium-ion battery, and use of coated lithium peroxide in a lithium-ion battery" was invented by Roland Jung (Munich), Hideki Ogihara (Haimhausen, Germany) and Thomas Woehrle (Munich).
