According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A promoter operably linked to a gene encoding a protein is disclosed. The promoter drives expression of the protein in a yeast cell in the absence of methanol. Also disclosed are vectors, host cells and expression systems that include the promoter, as well as methods of using the promoter to express proteins in yeast."
