ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 5 -- United States Patent no. PP36,530, issued on March 4, was assigned to Ball Horticultural Co. (West Chicago, Ill.).

"Dahlia plant named 'Baldadenast'" was invented by Jeroen Gitzels (Zwaag, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct cultivar of Dahlia plant named 'Baldadenast', characterized by its double-type, dark magenta and white bicolored inflorescences, dark green-colored foliage, and vigorous, upright-mounded growth habit, is disclosed."

The patent was filed on March 28, 2024, under Application No. 18/620,215.
