ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,324, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to B. G. NEGEV TECHNOLOGIES AND APPLICATIONS LTD., AT BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY (Beer Sheva, Israel).

"Anti superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) antibodies and use thereof" was invented by Stanislav Engel (Beer Sheva, Israel) and Zeev Barak (Beer Sheva, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to an antibody or an antigen-binding portion thereof having specific binding affinity to a misfolded SOD1. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising same and methods of using same are also provided."

The patent was filed on Nov. 28, 2019, under Application No. 17/297,167.
