ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,366,698, issued on July 22, was assigned to Azumo Inc. (Chicago).

"Light emitting device including a light absorbing cladding region on edges of a core layer of a film-based lightguide" was invented by Anthony Nichol (Orono, Minn.) and Zane Coleman (Elmhurst, Ill.).
