ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,410,610, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to AWI Licensing LLC (Wilmington, Del.).
"Flame retardant clear coatings for building panels" was invented by John E. Hughes (Lincoln University, Pa.) and Michelle X. Wang (Lititz, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to a flame retardant coating, the flame retardant coating comprising aluminum carbonate, triethanolamine, and a blend of a borate compound and a phosphate compound. The coating is optically transparent."
The patent was filed on Feb. 7, 2022, under Application No. 17/665,813.
