ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,334,983, issued on June 17, was assigned to AvicenaTech Corp. (Sunnyvale, Calif.).

"Coherent fiber bundle parallel optical links" was invented by Robert Kalman (Mountain View, Calif.), Bardia Pezeshki (Mountain View, Calif.), Alexander Tselikov (Mountain View, Calif.) and Cameron Danesh (Mountain View, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A coherent fiber bundle may be used to optically connect an array of microLEDs to an array of photodetectors in an optical communication system."

The patent was filed on Sept. 29, 2023, under Application No. 18/478,490.
