ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,277,898, issued on April 15, was assigned to AUO Corp. (Hsin-Chu, Taiwan).

"Luminance compensation method and display system" was invented by Shin-Ru Lin (Hsin-Chu, Taiwan) and Yi-Fu Ou (Hsin-Chu, Taiwan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A luminance compensation method includes the following steps. Temperature data of a display is received. A gamma correction table is obtained. Multiple gamma adjustment points are generated according to the temperature data and the gamma correction table. A gamma correction curve is generated according to the gamma adjustment points. The display displays an image according to the gamma correction curve."
