"Touchless sensor and method for retrofitting a touchless sensor into push-button receiver" was invented by Everett G. Jacobson III (Nicholasville, Ky.), James J. Latimer (Lexington, Ky.), Logan David Poe (Lexington, Ky.) and Daniel A. Farnsworth (Irvine, Ky.).
