ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,224,639, issued on Feb. 11, was assigned to AUDI AG (Ingolstadt, Germany).
"Rotor for an externally excited synchronous machine" was invented by Martin GerngroB (Kinding, Germany) and Lars Wetterau (Ingolstadt, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A star disc has integrated current busbars for the interconnecting of rotor windings. A rotor may comprise the star disc, and a method may comprise producing the rotor."
The patent was filed on Aug. 25, 2022, under Application No. 17/895,856.
