ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,344,918, issued on July 1, was assigned to ATI PROPERTIES LLC (Albany, Ore.).
"Titanium alloys" was invented by John V. Mantione (Indian Trail, N.C.), David A. Brice (Marshville, N.C.) and LaShonda Cozort (Monroe, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A titanium alloy comprises, in weight percent based on total alloy weight: 3.5 to 4.5 aluminum; 1.0 to less than 3 tin; 1.0 to 3.0 zirconium; 2.0 to 5.5 molybdenum; 2.0 to 4.25 chromium; 0.01 to 0.03 silicon; titanium; and impurities; and wherein an aluminum equivalent value of the titanium alloy is 6.0 to 6.9."
