ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,814, issued on March 18, was assigned to ATEX Technologies Inc. (Pinebluff, N.C.).
"Fray resistant structure" was invented by Stephanie Norris (Pinebluff, N.C.), Brian McMurray (Pinebluff, N.C.) and Adam Macdonald (Pinebluff, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The improved multifilament structure is a low denier, heat treated multifilament structure that provides for advantageous mechanical properties, including fray resistance, low shrinkage, high tensile strength and low elongation."
