US Patent Issued to Asensus Surgical Europe S.a.R.L. on July 29 for "Stereo camera calibration using screen based target projections" (Israeli Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,375,635, issued on July 29, was assigned to Asensus Surgical Europe S.a.R.L. (Bertrange, Luxembourg).

"Stereo camera calibration using screen based target projections" was invented by Tal Nir (Haifa, Israel) and Lior Alpert (Haifa, Israel).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In a system and method of calibrating a stereoscopic camera, a target pattern is electronically displayed on a display. The camera to be calibrated captures images of the target pattern using a stereoscopic camera while the displayed target pattern is altered over time. The captured images are analyzed and calibration parameters for the stereoscopic camera are determined."...
