ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,721, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to ASC Engineered Solutions LLC (Oak Brook, Ill.).
"Pipe groover" was invented by Joseph Maksimowski (Guntersville, Ala.) and Larry Keith Gunter (Albertville, Ala.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A pipe groover can include a base assembly; a spindle plate secured to the base assembly but configured to rotate about an axis with respect to the base assembly; and a plurality of roller assemblies secured to the spindle plate, each of the roller assemblies including a pair of rollers configured to form a groove in a pipe proximate to an end of the pipe."
