ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,225,226, issued on Feb. 11, was assigned to ARRIS Enterprises LLC (Suwanee, Ga.).
"Signaling high dynamic range and wide color gamut content in transport streams" was invented by Mandayam Narasimhan (San Diego) and Ajay Luthra (San Diego).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A program map table in a transport stream comprising an elementary stream identifier indicating a particular elementary stream, a high dynamic range flag indicating the presence or absence of high dynamic range content within the elementary stream, and a wide color gamut flag indicating the presence or absence of wide color gamut content within the elementary stream."
