ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,391,810, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to Arkema France (Puteaux, France).
"Gelled polymer membrane for Li-ion battery" was invented by Stephane Bizet (Serquigny, France), Gregory Schmidt (Pierre-Benite, France) and Jerome Chauveau (Serquigny, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a fluoropolymer film which makes it possible to manufacture a gelled dense membrane which offers a very good compromise between ionic conductivity and mechanical strength after swelling. This membrane is intended for use as a separator for Li-ion batteries."
The patent was filed on Nov. 10, 2020, under Application No. 17/776,248.
