ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,351,918, issued on July 8, was assigned to ArcelorMittal (Luxembourg).
"Roll connection" was invented by Francois Nonne (Mondelange, France) and Pauline Briault (Metz, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method and an equipment permitting to optimally handle and support a roll made of at least an inert material and transfer the torque from a bearing to a roll or the other way around without damaging them, the roll and bearing being immersed in molten metal."
The patent was filed on Dec. 9, 2019, under Application No. 17/780,166.
