ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,080, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to Applied Biosystems LLC (Carlsbad, Calif.).

"Detection of analytes and nucleic acids" was invented by Mark Shannon (San Francisco) and David Ruff (Oxford, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods of detecting at least one analyte and at least one nucleic acid in a sample are provided. Reagents for carrying out the methods are also provided."
