ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,293,753, issued on May 6, was assigned to Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.).
"Adaptive noise cancellation and speech filtering for electronic devices" was invented by Yang Lu (San Jose, Calif.), Andrew P. Bright (Los Gatos, Calif.), Fatos Myftari (San Jose, Calif.) and Vasu Iyengar (Pleasanton, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aspects of the subject technology provide for generation of a self-voice signal by an electronic device that is operating in an active noise cancellation mode.
