"Live location sharing" was invented by Roberto Garcia (Mountain View, Calif.), Eugene M. Bistolas (Mountain View, Calif.), Justin Wood (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Lawrence Yuan Yang (San Francisco), Scott Lopatin (San Francisco) and Richard R. Dellinger (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Techniques for live location sharing are described. A first mobile device and a second mobile device can communicate with one another using an IM program.
