ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,271,531, issued on April 8, was assigned to Apple Inc. (Cupertino, Calif.).

"Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for using a cursor to interact with three-dimensional environments" was invented by Evgenii Krivoruchko (San Francisco), Benjamin H. Boesel (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Jia Wang (Redmond, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Techniques for controlling and/or moving a cursor, such as by using air gestures, are described."

The patent was filed on Jan. 2, 2024, under Application No. 18/402,581.
