ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,251,395, issued on March 18, was assigned to Apellis Pharmaceuticals Inc. (Waltham, Mass.).
"RNAS for complement inhibition" was invented by Christian Mueller (Concord, Mass.) and Lukas Scheibler (Telluride, Colo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "RNAs, such as miRNA and siRNA, and their use in treating complement-mediated disorders, are described."
The patent was filed on Sept. 12, 2022, under Application No. 17/942,698.
