"Method for temporarily extending the autonomy of an electric vehicle" was invented by Marco Marsilia (Cachan, France) and Richard Pothin (Jouars Pontchartrain, France).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method temporarily extends the autonomy of an electric vehicle including a traction battery having a nominal usable energy capacity that is less than its maximum actual energy capacity. The method includes an additional usable capacity release step so as to temporarily increase the autonomy of the vehicle."
