ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,322,782, issued on June 3, was assigned to Ampcera Inc. (Tucson, Ariz.).

"Solvent-free processing methods for manufacturing solid-state batteries" was invented by Hui Du (Tucson, Ariz.), James Emery Brown (Tucson, Ariz.), Chen Chen (Tucson, Ariz.) and Sumin Zhu (San Franscisco, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A solvent-free processing method for manufacturing a solid-state battery that includes a first solid-state electrolyte layer and a first cathode layer. The method includes forming at least one of the first solid-state electrolyte layer and the first cathode layer by solvent-free energy-assisted spraying."
